Mizuno have created a beautiful set of irons that can be worked like a blade but have some added forgiveness with the Mizuno MP-64 Irons. What they do give you is superb playability, feel, consistency and feedback. The cheap golf clubs of MP-64's are the latest grain flow forged irons in the Mizuno range developed with the input of Mizuno tour professionals including Luke Donald who put them straight in his bag.

Luke Donald confirmed he’s put Mizuno’s brand new Mizuno MP-64 Irons in the bag at The Barclays. Since missing the cut at the US Open in June, the Englishman has recorded two top-tens in his last three events and he’s now ready to strike while the iron is hot. On his Twitter feed, Donald said: “Been testing Mizuno’s newest irons, the MP64s, and I like them so much am putting them in the bag.”

According to Mizuno’s Chris Voshall, Maximising feel became the absolute priority - with forgiveness added afterwards. With other more forgiving ‘player’ irons in our line like the JPX825 Pro and Mizuno MP-59 Irons, we were free to really chase impact sensations. Everything about the MP-64 iron is soft, from the muscle definition, the sole contours and ultimately the feel.

A “Diamond Muscle” pad behind the hitting area combines with progressive cavity depths—short irons have a minimal cavity; long irons have a deeper cavity—to ensure a penetrating flight with short irons and a higher trajectory with long irons. The club’s overall weighting should also help it to launch higher shots that check up quicker than the muscleback blade Mizuno MP-69 Irons sale.

These are set to replace the MP-63 irons in the range and will sit alongside the MP-69 and MP-59s next year. Mizuno claims that with the shallowest cavity, the Mizuno MP-64 Irons are designed for the professional player - offers more forgiveness than a traditional blade with Mizuno’s R&D team focussed on producing soft, yet solid feel. They just feel amazing and the flight is fantastic with a tight dispersion. These can be combined with the new H4 irons as a long iron replacements if you struggle with the long irons, which give extra forgiveness and higher launch.
