When it comes to the AP2 irons, which are designed for low handicappers, McGinley, Titleist's vice president of
discount golf equipment marketing says Titleist has significantly increased the club's moment of inertia (MOI) by re-positioning tungsten weight within the heads.
"The overall goal was to better apply the different materials we use in the design," McGinley said. "To make both, in essence, more forgiving. But when you are talking about the AP2 player, he's not really looking for forgiveness. For him, iron play is all about distance control. When we can make an iron more forgiving, we're really giving the AP2 player more consistent ball speed over a larger area of the face."
The Titleist CB 712 Iron maintains the classic line, profile, solid sound, feel, and shot-shaping precision of classic forgings. However, it also provides modern playability, a benefit resulting from more than thirty years of player research and development, engineering innovation, and advances in manufacturing processes.
Compared to the
Titleist MB 712 Irons the CB irons have a larger head, top line and a little more offset to give you a bit more forgiveness and a slightly higher flight, although it is still pretty good in the big scheme of things. It is a high-performance, shallow, forged cavity back iron with an improved feel, classic look, and superior shot control for the highly skilled golfer. Forged from 1025 carbon steel with modern satin chrome plating, CB irons feature constant blade lengths, minimal constant offset, and a thick topline.
The
titleist cb 712 irons are still very much for single figure handicappers who like a more traditional looking forged iron but want a little more margin for error. You get great feel and feedback and shaping shots is very easy right through the set.
The Titleist CB iron is the most popular Titleist model on the European Tour and we are not surprised, with a lot of players blending the CB's in the some MB short irons or Titleist AP2 long irons. The Cheap Titleist CB 712 irons(http://www.dealgolfclubs.com/Discount-Titleist-CB-712-Irons-372.html) is a very competent iron and for most single figure amateurs we would recommend blending in with some of the other Titleist models for a combination of forgiveness and feel.
