Titleist AP1 irons are the most forgiving model in the Titleist irons lineup, with key improvements in the latest generation ( Titleist AP1 712 Irons Series) adding forgiveness without sacrificing shot control. Certainly we found it to be very easy to hit and pretty forgiving, even if the trajectory was a little higher than the similar sized CB iron.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Ben Curtis is off to an impressive start in 2012, having already earned four top-14 finishes including his victory at the Valero Texas Open, which was the first on the PGA Tour by a player using a full set of Titleist AP1 irons including titleist mb 712 and AP1 712 Irons. "For me it's all about performance, what are my misses like?" says Curtis, who ranked first in Greens in Regulation at the Valero Texas Open. "The AP1s are more forgiving so they give you a little more room for error."

I was on the hunt for a new set of Irons so went to the pro shop to try a few. Never gave Titleist a though until I tried them against some of the other clubs I was keen on. I hit callaway x-22 irons for some time and they were great clubs but I was ready to upgrade. I liked the Mizuno brand. I was drawn in by all the great feedback they have been getting etc, but the AP1 712 Irons sounded and felt just that little bit better for me. The computer showed I was hitting them better.

Key improvements to the new AP1 irons add forgiveness without sacrificing shot control - factors previously thought to be mutually exclusive because of their more efficient, high MOI design while also featuring a more traditional appearance with a progressive blade length throughout the set. The titleist ap1 712 irons feature two tungsten weights in the sole of the club that increases the MOI of the club without having to make the head longer.

When I played the Titleist AP1 712 Irons for the first time I had difficulty getting the ball of and I was doing terrible. After the first 9 when i hit the back 9 my partners were shocked, my golf clubs for sale were flying and going farther then ever. Shot a 55 on the front 9 but after getting used to them saved the back 9 with a 38. I gained a couple of yard on my shots and I am able to control the club better.
