Light but solid R11s Fairway Wood Empty

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first about the Ping K15 Driver, but once again, Taylormade did it again! They got my attention with the R11S. This wood sets up well to the eye and makes you a better 3wood player. Very solid ball contact with many choices how to set up your ball flight.

The TaylorMade R11 S Fairway Wood allows you to dial in your distance. This is achieved by adjusting the loft up or down with Flight Control Technology and changing the face angle of the Titleist AP2 712 Irons and the spin rate to the desired settings. The deeper face and lower center of gravity creates an easier launch and the white crown and black face makes alignment easy with the Callaway RAZR X Tour Irons and eliminates glare on top.

The TaylorMade R11S Fairway's Pull-Face construction creates a light, thin, fast clubface of the Ping G20 Irons designed for high ball speeds. An Ultra-Thin Wall casting process means the crown on the R11S is 0.6mm at its thinnest point. This redistribution of weight means the centre-of-gravity can be moved forward, increasing ball speeds and creating better launch conditions for the Ping Anser Forged Irons.

The adjustable sole plate is still there and only features 3 settings whereas the Titleist AP1 712 Irons has 5 and it would be good to have seen that in the R11S fairway, even though we are still not convinced by the merits of this feature.

Overall unless you need some more settings on your hosel it is probably not worth upgrading from the R11, which is listed on http://www.discountovergolf.com/Callaway-Diablo-Forged-Irons-UK_67.html, but if you are in the market for a better player fairway then this is worth considering.
